[Gene watches and listens, not really daring to interrupt because it is rare. It's usually hard to catch even a glimpse of the person his friend was before the war, and it's not like Gene really minds - not exactly, anyway, because he's never known Snafu any other way and he still likes him the way he is (for whatever insane reason) - but it's still good to see.
